Here’s What To Look For in High-Quality Dimple Jackets

Many in the biopharma and chemical industries, among many others, rely on a circular cover that helps hold fluid or gases in a container. For a business to manufacture their products, they need to have a specialized jacket that can work with their machines, which is why the product's condition is of the utmost importance. Here’s what to look for in high-quality dimple jackets .

Design Spacing

Always look at the physical detailing to tell if a dimple jacket’s produced well. If you notice that the holes are too far apart, the jacket has a harder time keeping the elements moving.

When looking for your next set of laser-welded dimple jackets , look for ones with welds closer together, such as a design with a 2” x 2” pattern.

Material Strength

How thick your welding jacket is can affect how well it performs when protecting your vessel's contaminants. In this case, the thicker the jacket is, the more success you have with housing your gases and liquids.

The best gauge type to go with is a 13 or lower, as it has a thicker and heavier appearance than a 14- or 16-gauge wall.

Structural Welding

Look at the legs and footers of your dimple jacket. If the legs and footers are welded onto the jacket, you’re going to run into structural issues. When these two components are attached to the jacket, it creates problems like uneven heating and cooling cycles.

Stick with placing the legs and footers directly onto the vessel so it doesn’t cause a blockade when placing the jacket around the container.

Connection Header Placement

A dimple jacket that works with you instead of against you is key to smooth operations. In addition, to have a smooth run of all products, ensure the connection header is attached to the jacket to allow for better flow to the dimples.

Once you have achieved the best flow, the heating and cooling cycles balance out, and the contaminants distribute evenly.

When managing the pressure vessels, you must know what to look for in high-quality dimple jackets. Starting with this guide, you now have a better way of knowing how to find what you’re looking for to improve your materials' overall strength, consistency, and flow.

It takes time to find the right welded dimple jacket for your vessels. Custom Manufacturing and Polishing Inc. can make it possible if you want a particular pattern. Contact us here for more information on welding your next dimple jacket and our other customizable welding services.
